She held her tight that afternoon

Knowing she was now her responsibility

She told her,

You did not just become a responsibility to me,

You became a gift that I will cherish forever

 And a blessing that I will never forget

She still goes back to the memories shared

When she was a young girl

She was told she was loved

Told that she would give anything up for her

 To be able to succeed in life

She has had that love for eighteen years

She thanks her

For her hard work

The courage

The sacrifice

The trust

The love given to her

She loves her for what she has done

And knows there is no way to repay her

All she can say is thank you mother and I love you
